Finding Common Ground

October 16, 2022 @ 6:30 pm

Finding Common Ground at the intersection of faith and politics

How do we discuss divisive topics in ways that continue the dialogue rather than shut it down? For example, the state of our nation, the January 6 insurrection and abortion rights are all difficult subjects. Discussing them with family and friends with differing views can be uncomfortable. How can we be just, kind, humble, and love our neighbor with so much political polarization?

Join Rev. Tom Berlin and Mike McCurry as they discuss how to find common ground on subjects that divide our country and relationships. Mr. McCurry is the former press secretary to President Bill Clinton and UMC Lay Delegate to the Church General Conference.

Join Floris UMC’s Student Ministries for pizza in the Gathering Space at 5:45 p.m. The discussion begins at 6:30 p.m.

Childcare is available.
